Description

John C. Fremont led several expeditions into the American West. Some of these regions were claimed by Mexico, so instead of a typical USA flag, his wife Jessie created a unique banner for his exploration. The Stars and Stripes was represented, as were aspects from U.S. Army regimental colors. There are 26 stars, and an eagle holding arrows and a peace pipe. (A peace pipe was a more recognizable symbol to Native Americans of no harm intended, more known than the olive branch.) Fremont was a military officer during the Mexican-American War and the Civil War, and was the first Republican Party candidate for the office of President of the United States.

This is an American made flag of our toughest, most durable nylon fabric. It has solid brass grommets. You won't find a nylon flag with higher tensile and tear strength, yet it flies very well in the wind. It has excellent strength retention under UV exposure, and high resistance to UV fading. The colors are deeper, brighter and last over time, due to the aniline dyeing process. There is a one inch double edge fold with four rows of stitching on the fly edge. It has 1 1/2 inch reinforced stitching vertically at the fly corners, and 3 1/2 inch reinforced hem stitching (horizontal) at top of bottom of the fly.
